The Montessori Philosophy
At My Friends Montessori, we believe that a child’s early experiences lay the foundation for all future learning. That’s why we’re dedicated to nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively—in a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment inspired by the Montessori philosophy. Our low ratios within a warm and inviting setting allows for individualized attention, close relationships, and a strong sense of community. We offer rich, hands-on learning opportunities that foster independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in children from 18 months through 6 years. With a mixed-age classroom within a carefully prepared environment with curriculum encompassing, practical life skills, grace & courtesies, sensorial, math, language, music, art, outdoor exploration and plenty of time for movement and play throughout their entire day, children are gently guided, provided with choices within limits to thrive as they grow in a supportive and comfortable space that they can take ownership of and feel a safe sense of belonging.

At My Friends Montessori, we are an AMS Montessori-based school and childcare program dedicated to providing a nurturing, child-centered learning environment that supports each child’s individual needs, interests, and developmental stages. We serve children ages 18 months through 6 years, fostering their natural curiosity and love of learning.Our mission is to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning by nurturing independence, creativity, and curiosity in every child. Guided by Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, we support the development of the whole child through hands-on, purposeful activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. Our carefully prepared classroom and outdoor spaces encourage exploration, community awareness, and respect for self, others, and the world around us. Teaching at My Friends Montessori is a delicate balance of observation and guidance, with individualized lessons tailored to each child's progress, ensuring they are challenged, engaged, and supported at every stage. We strive to create a warm, inclusive community where children develop compassion, confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for future success.
Health & Safety
At My Friends Montessori, the safety, health, and well-being of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a secure and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow with confidence. Our facility is kept meticulously clean through a regular schedule of deep cleaning and daily sanitizing of high-touch surfaces, classroom materials, and common areas. We use non-toxic, child-safe cleaning products and encourage frequent handwashing as part of our daily routine.
We follow clear health and illness policies based on current best practices and recommendations from public health authorities. Children are monitored throughout the day for any signs of illness, and families are promptly notified if their child shows symptoms. We require children and staff to stay home when sick and have procedures in place for managing mild symptoms and returning to school safely.
We are fully trained in emergency preparedness, including fire drills, lockdown procedures, and evacuation protocols. We are certified in First Aid and CPR through the American Red Cross and receive ongoing training in safety and child wellness. Medications are stored securely and administered only with proper documentation and parent permission.
In addition to physical safety, we emphasize emotional well-being by maintaining a calm, respectful environment where children feel secure and supported. Our classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to reduce overstimulation and to promote safe, independent movement.
